The Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 will take place in the United Kingdom
The EBU has announced that the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will definitely be held in the United Kingdom. In mid-June it became clear that it was not possible to organize the festival there due to the situation in Ukraine. The EBU then started talks with the BBC in which the Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC also has a role. The two broadcasters will work together for 2023, incorporating Ukrainian elements into the shows. In addition, Ukraine also gets a direct place in the final. It will be the ninth time that the United Kingdom will organize the festival. The last time was in Birmingham in 1998.
Host cities will be able to register in the coming weeks. More than fifteen cities have already expressed interest in recent weeks. They will have to show their plans via a bid book and it must also be clear whether they meet the conditions. The dates for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 have not been announced yet.
