Hera Björk in Icelandic selection

Earlier this week, the Icelandic broadcaster RÚV made headlines when they announced that their participation in Eurovision 2024 is uncertain due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Nevertheless, RÚV also confirmed that Söngvakeppnin 2024 will proceed as planned. Once the winner is determined, the broadcaster, together with the winning artist, will decide whether the country will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

On Saturday evening, the ten artists and songs that will compete in the three shows of Söngvakeppnin 2024 were unveiled. During the two semi-finals, all songs must be performed in Icelandic.
