The fourth edition of Benidorm Fest, Spain’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, is currently underway. Organized by Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE), the event is being hosted at the Palau Municipal d’Esports l’Illa de Benidorm. It kicked off with two semi-finals on January 28 and 30, leading to the grand finale scheduled for February 1, 2025.

Participants and Competition Structure

This year, 16 acts are competing for the honor of representing Spain at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The lineup spans a variety of genres, showcasing the country’s vibrant musical diversity. Notable participants include:

  • Kuve: A pop band celebrated for their infectious tunes.
  • Melody: An established artist with a commanding stage presence.
  • DeTeresa: A fresh talent bringing a unique sound to the competition.

Each semi-final features eight performances, with the top four advancing to the final. The winner is determined through a combination of jury votes (50%) and public voting (50%), ensuring a fair and balanced outcome.

Production Upgrades

RTVE has stepped up its game for Benidorm Fest 2025, introducing a state-of-the-art triangular stage design that promises to elevate the visual appeal. The venue has a capacity for 2,600 attendees, adding to the electrifying atmosphere. Moreover, a network of 18 cameras ensures every performance is captured in spectacular detail.

Innovative Voting System

To boost public engagement, RTVE has introduced free voting through the RTVE Play app. This initiative makes it easier for fans to support their favorite acts, fostering a more inclusive and interactive experience.

Star-Studded Performances

In addition to the competing acts, the festival features guest appearances by prominent artists. The first semi-final included performances by Ginebras and Edurne, Spain’s Eurovision representative in 2015. The second semi-final showcased Chenoa and Ruth Lorenzo, who also co-hosted the evening. The grand final will feature Nebulossa, Rigoberta Bandini, and Amaral, adding even more star power to the event.
