After a year of absence, Moldova is returning to the Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight, the national final featuring 16 contestants took place, and Satoshi won decisively with the song “Viva, Moldova.” The song received top marks from all three voting groups—national jury, international jury, and televote. Moldova will perform in the first semi-final in Vienna on Tuesday, May 12.

Satoshi is a well-known Moldovan singer, songwriter, and performer, whose real name is Vlad Sabajuc. He is currently one of Moldova’s most popular artists. Born on September 13, 1998, in Cahul, Moldova, he began his musical journey at a young age and launched the “Satoshi” project in 2019. He uses his platform to highlight the positive aspects of his country and is a strong advocate for EU integration for the Republic of Moldova. Considered one of the leading artists in Moldova today, he has also scored several hits in neighboring Romania.

Joining Satoshi on stage will be Aliona Moon, who previously represented Moldova in 2013 and achieved 11th place with the song “O Mie.”
