Malta announces ‘Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022’ entrants

Malta will choose the entry for the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time since 2018 via a national final. The national broadcaster has announced the 22 candidates and two artists who have previously appeared on the Eurovision stage: Richard Micallef and Jessica Muscat. Micallef was the singer of the group Firelight that participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for Malta in 2014 and Muscat represented San Marino in 2018.

In the national final, to be held in February, 16 songs will eventually participate. Six songs have to leave the field of participants in the semi-final.
