The entry from Cyprus has just been presented. Theo Evan will sing the song ‘Shh’ in the first semi-final on Tuesday 13 May.
The song is a composition by Dimitris Kontopoulos, Elsie Bay, Linda Dale, Elke Tiel and Lasse Nymann. The Dutch Elke Tiel was also partly responsible for the Cypriot entry last year.
The singer was born in Nicosia and spent his early days taking dance lessons, singing in his school choir and he has already appeared in a large number of theatre productions and talent shows. This has already resulted in a number of prizes. After graduating from The English School in Nicosia, Theo moved to the USA to study music and performance at the internationally renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Theo released his very first single The Wall in 2021 and has since released several singles. He has also appeared as an extra in the popular HBO TV series Euphoria.
Cyprus has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1981 and second place in 2018 (Feugo by Eleni Foureira) is its best result to date. Since 2015, the country has only failed to reach the final once.
