On Saturday 14 January, Belgium will select the entry for Liverpool via Eurosong. The professional jury includes Nikkie de Jager. “It was already a dream come true that I could present Eurovision. But the fact that I can now help determine who will represent Belgium is just such a big party to me,” she responds. Duncan Laurence will make a guest appearance during the final.

The jury also includes Alexander Rybak (winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009), Laura Tesoro, who placed 10th for Belgium in 2017 with ‘What’s the pressure’, and Jérémie Makiese, who represented Belgium in Turin last year. The rest of the jury – who follows the show backstage – also consists of Laura Govaerts (MNM), Ann Reymen (Radio2), Korneel De Clercq (Radio 1), Thibault Christiaensen (StuBru), Francicso Schuster (#LikeMe), Leslie Cable (Delegation leader for RTBF), Jasper Van Biesen (author “65 years of Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest”), Stephan Monsieur (chairman OGAE Belgium), André Vermeulen (journalist and Eurovision specialist), Els Germonpré (music coordinator Eén) and Manu Lammens (music manager MNM) .

In the week before the Eurosong final, VRT shows how the seven candidates introduce their two songs to each other and how they give each other advice. Based on those experiences, the candidates then choose which of the two songs they will perform in the grand final on January 14.
