Australian singer won’t be coming to The Netherlands for Eurovision

Montaigne is not allowed to come to the Netherlands for the Eurovision Song Contest. The Australian singer will take part in the competition, but will do so with her previously recorded performance.

“Technicolour” will not be sung in Rotterdam Ahoy this year: according to local restrictions, Montaigne is not allowed to travel to Europe and can only use the special scheme for artists who cannot travel to the Netherlands.

All 39 participating countries have already recorded their actions in advance, in case someone becomes ill or, for some other reason, cannot occur. Australia is the first country known to use these special videos.
